Healthcare Assistant – Bournemouth Area

We are looking for caring and reliable Healthcare Assistants to support individuals in the Bournemouth area. The role involves providing high-quality personal care, including washing, dressing, toileting, mobility, and meal support, while promoting dignity, independence and wellbeing.

You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate care records, following individual care plans, monitoring, and reporting changes in health or wellbeing, and working closely with colleagues and healthcare professionals. A compassionate approach, good communication skills, reliability, and a genuine commitment to supporting others are essential.

Responsibilities

Healthcare Assistant – Key Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, person-centred care and support.
  • Assist with personal care, including washing, dressing, toileting and continence care.
  • Support with mobility, transfers and daily activities.
  • Assist with meals, hydration and maintaining nutritional needs.
  • Monitor and report changes in health, behaviour or wellbeing.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date care records and documentation.
  • Follow individual care plans and support patients’ personal choices.
  • Promote dignity, independence, privacy and respect at all times.
  • Follow safeguarding, infection control, health and safety and confidentiality procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, colleagues and healthcare professionals.
  • Provide emotional support, companionship and reassurance.
  • Work as part of a professional and supportive care team.
Qualifications

Needed

6 months or more experience working in care in the UK.

DBS Check on update service or willingness to obtain

Desirable

Driving License

Care Certificate

Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care
